A stylish Korean action thriller ' Ballerina'

I think I can pick "Ballerina" if it's the most sensational and shocking movie I've seen in recent years. It's not based on a true story, but I think I was more immersed in it because it reminded me of the Burning Snu incident or digital sex crimes that made Korea buzz throughout the movie. 



1. The plot 

Ok-joo, a former bodyguard, receives a phone call from her middle school classmate Min-hee after a long time and visits her house, but Min-hee has already died. Before Min-hee dies, she leaves a message to Ok-joo asking her to get revenge on someone, and Ok-joo traces it one by one, and takes cruel and pleasant revenge. 


2. Cast and director 

Jeon Jong-seo as Okju, Park Yoo-rim as Min-hee, and Kim Ji-hoon as Choi Pro. And Lee Choong-hyun directed the movie. Lee Choong-hyun is also famous for directing the movie called ‘Call’. 


3. What to Watch for 

It's an action thriller film by actor Jeon Jong-seo that seems to show exciting acting in every movie since her debut, so you can look forward to her acting and action. And it would be nice to watch the chemistry between actor Jeon Jong-seo and director Lee Choong-hyun, who are real lovers, when they meet as actors and directors. And I wanted everyone to watch the movie with awareness as it shows a little bit of how drug distribution and digital sex crimes occur in the movie. 


4. My impressions

When I first saw the movie, I felt a little disgusting. Although the movie is not based on a real incident, I thought that it deals with things that can happen in the news or in real life, and that the crime is more serious than I thought. And I think Min-hee's illusion of seeing professional Choi's face on stage was a scene that expressed the fear of real victims well. I watched the movie with the hope that women, especially in clubs and bars, would not follow strangers or drink their drinks in real life. Of course, it's possible because it's a movie, but the revenge of the jade was so refreshing, and I think it's because rapper Gray participated in the movie as a director of movie music. Personally, I've watched the movie about 3 times and I think it's a well-made movie that makes me feel like I want to watch it again while writing this review. I especially recommend it to women.
